Under-18 Guests

  • Yes, but only with parental/legal guardian consent.
  • Parent/guardian must provide a signed letter including:
    • Child’s full name and date of birth
    • Check-in and check-out dates
    • A statement taking full responsibility for the child during their stay at the Drunken Monkey (a “party hostel”)
    • Contact information (email and telephone) for parent/guardian
  • The letter can be emailed to us before arrival or brought in printed form.

Pets & Service Animals

If you wish to bring your pet or service animal with you, please inform us in advance. Animals are allowed in private rooms only, and for the safety of all our guests dogs must wear a muzzle in shared spaces.

  • Pets:
    • Fee: €20 per stay (any size)
  • Service animals:
    • Fee: Free (any size)
    • Official paperwork for the animal must be provided

Group Bookings

  • Groups = 15+ guests.
  • Email us with group details (dates, room type, number of guests, special requests).
  • Deposit: 50% to confirm booking (bank transfer or in person at reception).
    • Due within 2 months advance of arrival date
    • Balance due upon arrival
  • Cancellation:
    • Full refund if cancelled ≥1 month before arrival date
    • No refunds given less than 1 month before arrival date
  • Groups must sign a house policy upon arrival.

Check-In

  • 15:00 – 00:00 (midnight).
  • Arrivals after midnight must inform reception in advance.
  • Early arrivals: If room is ready, you can check in early. Otherwise, we offer free luggage storage and access to our lounge/courtyard.

Check-Out

  • By 11:00 (keys returned to reception).
  • After 11:30, the key deposit is forfeited.
  • Private rooms: 1-hour late check-out is possible (ask reception).
  • Dorms: No late check-out (house keeping needs access).

If you didn’t receive a confirmation, please email us:

  • Full Name
  • Reservation number
  • Booking platform used

Luggage Storage

  • Before check-in: Secure storage with reception key access.
  • After check-out: Same-day only.
  • Oversized items: OK (bikes stored in courtyard only).

Lost & Found

  • Report to reception or email us (name, stay dates, booking number, item description).
  • We keep items for 1 month.
  • Hygiene items and underwear are not stored.
  • Guests must arrange and pay for courier collection.

Cancellation Policy

  • Standard: Free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival.
  • Non-refundable: No free cancellation within 7 days.
  • No-show: Reservation charged in full (minus city tax).
  • Cancel via your booking platform, or email us for direct bookings.

Payments on Site

  • Cash (CZK or EUR) or card (Visa/Mastercard).
  • Key deposit: cash or pre-authorized card hold (released 2–3 days after check-out, unless it was forfeited).
  • City tax of €2 per person/night is included in all prices.
  • Refunds usually process within 5–7 business days.

Facilities & Amenities

  • Towels: Included in private rooms; €5 cash rental for dorms.
  • Lockers in every dorm (code provided at check-in).
  • Tours & events listed at reception (tickets available on site).
  • Quiet hours: 23:00 onwards.

House Rules

  • Alcohol: Kitchen or courtyard only (not in rooms).
  • Food: Kitchen or courtyard only (not in rooms).
  • Outside guests: Allowed in courtyard only (not in rooms).
  • Smoking/vaping: Outside only. €100 fine if fire alarm triggered.

Accessibility

  • Elevator & stairs to all floors.
  • 2 of our Double rooms are accessible for disabled guests (by request and based on availability).

Check-In / Check-Out

  • Reception is open 24/7
  • Check-in from 15:00
  • Check-out by 11:00
  • Early check-in or late check-out requests are subject to availability and may incur additional charges

Cancellation Policy

  • Free cancellation up to 14 days before arrival
  • Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged the first night of the stay

Identification

  • Valid government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID, or driver’s license) is required at check-in (no copies or digital images allowed)
  • Minimum age: 18 — guests under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian or present a signed parental consent form (see FAQ section above for details)

Age Range

  • We welcome guests 18–50 years old
  • If you’re outside this range, we reserve the right to cancel your booking without refund and charge the first night

Quiet Hours

  • Quiet hours are observed from 22:00 to 07:00 in all dorms and common areas
  • We keep the party social, not sleepless

Payment & Deposits

  • Full payment is required upon arrival (unless prepaid)
  • Accepted payment methods: cash (CZK/EUR), credit & debit cards
  • A refundable key deposit of 200 CZK may be required at check-in

Smoking & Alcohol

  • Smoking (including vapes) is strictly prohibited inside the building
  • Violation may result in a 5,000 CZK fine plus 10,000 CZK if fire services are dispatched
  • Alcohol is permitted in designated bar and courtyard areas, but keep it respectful (see Guest Behavior policy below)

Guest Behavior

  • Respect staff, fellow travelers, and hostel property
  • Damage or disruptive behavior will result in immediate eviction without refund

Visitors

  • Visitors are not allowed in dorm rooms
  • With prior approval from reception, they’re welcome in common areas during the day

Housekeeping

  • Dorms cleaned are daily
  • Guests are expected to keep their areas tidy

Linen & towels

  • Included in private rooms
  • Towels for dorm guests are available to purchase for €5

Liability

  • We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings
  • Lockers are available for secure storage
